Built in Brisbane by someone who was sick of typing up his own calls.
Relay is a small Australian company. One founder, a lot of phone calls, and the belief that the work a call creates should not need a laptop.
The idea
Every sales call creates work: the booking, the follow-up, the note in the CRM. For years the answer has been “do it later at the desk”, and later never comes. Relay started as a desktop app that listened to calls on a laptop. It worked, but the best calls were never on the laptop. They were in the car.
So we moved the whole thing onto the phone number. If Relay owns the line, it hears every call, wherever you are, and the work can be done from the phone in your hand. That is the product today.
How we work
The founder runs his own number through Relay and takes every customer call on it. The team is reachable by phone, on a Relay number, obviously.
